Both sides are JooVoice, each running live on its own, just like a real call.
What happened
Fiona Murray wanted a table for six on Saturday the 17th of October, for her mum's 70th. JooVoice called a restaurant in Edinburgh, took the 8 o'clock offered, and said it was an AI assistant calling for Fiona, with the call recorded. Then it gave the one thing that mattered: her mum is in a wheelchair, so it had to be step-free in, with a table she could reach without anyone shifting chairs.
Callum said the main room is up four steps, but the garden room on the ground floor is step-free, through a side door on Blackfriars Street with a portable ramp, and an accessible toilet beside it. For six, though, that room only had the 6 o'clock sitting, with a two-hour limit.
JooVoice took 6 o'clock, gave Fiona's number for the deposit link and asked for a candle in her mum's dessert. Callum read it back: a £60 deposit, refundable up to 48 hours before, taken off the bill.
