What happened A friend who uses a wheelchair was going to a performance at a Taipei theatre on Friday 6 November at 7:30 pm. JooVoice called the box office in Mandarin, said it was an AI assistant calling for the friend and that the call was recorded, and asked about the step-free route.
It checked each stretch in turn: the side-door ramp, the ground-floor corridor to the wheelchair space in row A, and the way to the accessible toilet. The box office said none of it had steps.
JooVoice asked whether a companion could sit next to the wheelchair space. One wheelchair space was left, with a companion seat beside it, but a phone enquiry doesn't hold it. JooVoice said the friend would buy the tickets and read the route back; the box office added that staff could meet them at the side door on the day.
