Book dinner in Tokyo through an automated line
Gets put through, takes the last table at 7:30 for three and corrects the name. The robotic menu voice is the business’s phone system, played by our test line. It isn’t JooVoice.
Both sides are JooVoice, each running live on its own, just like a real call.
What happened
Emi Mori wanted dinner for three on Friday, 6 November, at a Tokyo restaurant whose phone line is answered by a machine first. JooVoice answered the automated menu in one word, 「予約です」 (a reservation), and was put through to the booking desk.
Sato at the desk said 7:00 and 8:00 were full and only 7:30 was left. JooVoice took it, said it was an AI assistant calling for Ms. Mori, and that the call was recorded.
When the restaurant read the name back as Megumi, JooVoice corrected it to Emi and spelled it. It asked for a quieter table, which was noted but not promised, and for ordering on the night instead of a set course. There was no deposit.
It ended by reading everything back: Friday 6 November, 7:30, three people, under Emi Mori, confirmation number HT306.
